Hydropower for electricity generation.
Hydropower harnesses waterfalls to generate electricity using turbines that are connected to the grid.
The method consists of deflecting the flow of a river, producing a waterfall. The water falls on a turbine, thus generating electricity. The water then returns to its natural course.
A distinction can be made between mini hydro facilities that divert part of the flow of a river through a pipe up to the waterfall; when connected to a turbine, this generates electricity.
